Art Installation is Underway at The Lofts at City Center!
On August 10, 2020, the installation of 51 prints and seven of my original paintings began at The Lofts at City Center! This project has been in the works for about 18 months and it is finally becoming reality!
Shawn Finley of Noble and Oak powered through two floors of the installation yesterday, and as expected, is doing a fantastic job of hanging the prints! By early next week, this project will be complete and I cannot wait to take you on a video tour through the halls.
Thanks to all who were part of this project becoming reality: Hal Shapiro, of RPG, the property developer whose vision was the genesis of this project. The team at Finkle + Williams Architecture, who designed this impressive multipurpose apartment building. The Lenexa Arts Council who hosted my solo show in 2018 at the new Lenexa City Hall Gallery, where my art was discovered by Hal. The talented Cheryl Young and Terry Weckbaugh at Image Quest Photography, whose imaging skills captured my artwork brilliantly, which in turn, enabled Mark Oliver and his team at Custom Color Corporation to print the images beautifully on aluminum. Thanks to Jim Stewart and the team at Titan Built, who despite managing a million last minute construction details, helped coordinate the delivery and storage of four palettes of prints, and helped Shawn and I safely navigate the busy construction site! And last, but definitely not least, thanks to Hamilton Kirkland, my husband, biggest fan, and transportation specialist, without whose support, counsel and help I could not do this!
Looking forward to seeing this project through!
