Catherine's painting, "Cloudy with a Chance of Color" took 3rd Place honors at the 23rd Heartland Artists Exhibition opening reception and awards presentation on Saturday, March 2. The annual Heartland Artists Exhibition is the largest art exhibit in Merriam, Kansas. It draws art and artists from across the United States. This year, 118 works from 71 artists were selected to participate. The show will be on display through the month of March, during business hours at the Tim Murphy Gallery in the Irene B. French Community Center in Merriam.
The judge, Mark Kuykendall, commented: "An amazing and playful composition that keeps the eye moving with colorful surprises. The artist's mastery of her medium is demonstrated in the confidence and the execution of this incredibly dynamic and coherent piece."
